Gathering evidence of poaching and plotting their location on maps, using GPS.

Tracking game to find out which species occur in the park and how common they are in different areas.

Surveys of plants in different parts of the park to build up Nyika’s inventory of species. Collecting rare and unknown species for the National Herbarium of Malawi and taking samples of seed for the Milllenium Seeds Bank.

Finding and recording reptiles and amphibians in the range of habitat types throughout the Nyika and beyond.

Finding small mammals and bats - where do they roost and what species can be identified by echo location techniques?

Bird surveys - creating an atlas of the location of rare and common species in the Nyika National Park and Vwaza Marsh.
