Malo Okukongula Charity

“Beautiful country”

Malo is a registered charity set up by Biosearch Expedition members in 2008. Our purpose is to improve the lives of the wildlife game scouts and their families, who work and live in the remote wilderness of the Nyika National Park and the Vwaza Wildlife Reserve, Malawi, Central Africa. The objectives are set out in the Memorandum of Association; to support conservation and education:

Conservation
To promote the conservation of the environment of Africa and in particular Malawi for the benefit of the people who live and work in and around conservation areas in Africa and in particular Malawi

Education
To advance the education of the people of Africa and in particular Malawi of all ages in relation to the first object and in all subjects up to secondary school.

We set out in the Autumn of 2008 to find ways of supporting the Scouts in the Nyika and Vwaza National Parks in Malawi, their families and the people living around these areas of great natural beauty and global significance environmentally.

We take out aid, give educational bursaries appropriately and are fund-raising £5000 to send a container of outdoor equipment, such as tents, boots, sleeping bags and mats for the scouts. Also books and educational equipment for the local schools.

Biosearch Expeditions directly supports this charity by hosting the site, supporting fund raising and logistical support within Malawi.
